L-R: Augustine Ohwo, Completion Engineer and Lorraine Smith, TEPUK Diversity Officer, receive the award from Dr Ollie Folayar, AFBE-UK
The Association for Black and Minority Ethnic Engineers UK (AFBE-UK) Scotland is a registered not-for-profit organisation which aims to inspire people of black and minority ethnic origin in engineering.
Augustine Ohwo, Completion Engineer at Total E&P UK, accepted the Next Generation Award at the AFBE-UK Scotland Gala Dinner event:
“Total E&P UK is delighted and honoured to accept this award from AFBE-UK. The award recognises our contribution towards promoting STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) subjects to school pupils in Aberdeen. It is only by working together to share best practice, knowledge and expertise with our next generation of young people today that will help to inspire and encourage them to become engineers of the future.”
The black tie event brought together business leaders, politicians, engineering professionals, academics and students for an evening of inspiration and celebration at the Marcliffe Hotel on 9 November 2016.
Congratulations to Dr Ollie Folayan and the team at AFBE-UK for their commitment towards raising the profile of your organisation whilst most importantly supporting the local educational community by providing a variety of new and interesting learning opportunities.
We look forward to developing our partnership in 2017.
