NMIS Careers in Manufacturing

Pivoting to the Manufacturing sector

About this event

With only 8% of working adults from underrepresented groups taking up careers in engineering, we have teamed up with the Association for Black and Ethnic minority Engineers (AFBE-UK) and Equate Scotland to develop a programme that can help tackle this under-representation and attract and support young people to explore a career in manufacturing and engineering.

The Transition programme will be delivered by AFBE and Equate Scotland and will include:

  • presentations from leading professionals in the manufacturing sector
  • sessions on personal branding
  • interview workshop
  • mock interview sessions
  • follow up mentoring

As an attendee, not only will you will gain valuable information about how to pivot into the manufacturing sector, you will hear inspirational insights from professionals who have already taken action and have moved into other engineering careers for the benefit of their future aspirations. The programme will also provide an excellent opportunity to network with industry experts and other professionals as well as offer a route for exploring the other training programmes delivered through the NMIS Group.
